On Tuesday, 18 June, Ambassador of Kingdom of Norway to the Republic of Latvia Kristian Ødegaard and representative of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Latvia Dace Dižbite-Ose visited RTU to meet the university administration and faculty deans, discussing current RTU cooperation with Norwegian higher education institutions and outlining possible future bilateral cooperation scenarios in studies, science and valorization.
In the beginning of summer for Riga Technical University was actively cooperating with universities of the People’s Republic of China. At the beginning of June, RTU representatives spent two weeks of meetings in Guangzhou and Shenzhen cities within the visit of the Latvian higher education delegation. During the visit, the meeting was held with the head of the Department of Education of Guangzhou City Municipality, officials, teaching staff and students from South China Normal University, as well as officials and academics from Jinan University.
RTU international students trip organised by RTU International Cooperation and Foreign Students department has become a tradition to promote foreign students interest about culture and traditions of Latvia.
On April 3, 2019 RTU Deputy Rector Prof. Igors Tipāns and the Project Manager of International Cooperation and Foreign student Department Laura Štāle welcomed representatives of the Ministry of Investments and International Cooperation of Egypt at RTU Ķīpsala Campus.
RTU ICFSD International projects unit is successfully continuing participation in Erasmus+ KA2 Capacity Building in Higher Education project entitled TIC CRUZ DEL SUR “Use of ICT for integral management of internationalization in Latin America”. During a period of five days (18.03.2019. – 22.03.2019) TICRUZ “Use of ICT for integral management of internationalization in Latin America” consortium members from RTU and Technological University of Panama (UTP) and Universidad Autónoma de Chiriquí (UNACHI) met for a working session in Panama, City of Panama hosted by UTP.
On March 5, 2019 the Students Day took place at the Riga Technical University (RTU) organized by Embassy of India to Sweden and Latvia, in order to welcome students from India and provide support and advice in consular questions.
The biggest event in Latvia devoted to professional career orientation where students have an opportunity to meet more than 130 companies and organizations from 37 different fields, ask about career and internship opportunities, company’s requirements and job specifications will take place this Friday on 22nd February!
Riga City Council Education, Culture and Sports Department will support Latvian language courses for inhabitants of Riga.
The aim of these courses is to help the adults, who are officially registered in Riga, to acquire Latvian language within level A and B.
On January 31, 2019 New Year’s Reception was held in the Great Hall of Riga Technical University. The administration, teaching staff and students of Riga Technical University and the guests from The Embassy of Peoples’ Republic of China in The Republic of Latvia, Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Confucius Institute of University of Latvia, Riga State Gymnasium No. 3 got together to celebrate the event.
On January 26, 2019, at 18:00 the celebration in honor of the 70st Republic Day of India was held in the great hall of Riga Technical University.
In cooperation with Indian Movies in Baltics – SIA Darbar Evening Show Entertainment, Banana Leaf Restaurant and Papaya Cinemas, the event was organized to bring together the Indian community gathered in Riga, which currently exceeds one thousand people. Around 200 visitors attended the celebration, which is a great number representing the community.
