We have currently been very active in implementation of joint study and research activities with higher education institutions in Italy, and as the culmination of the whole bonding process was the concert performed by RTU Women’s Choir “DELTA” (Artistic director – Ms. Eliza Hvane, Conductor – Ms. Inta Eizenberga-Cermane) and Men’s Choir IDICA (conductor – Mr. Gianlorenzo Benzoni) from the Italian city of Clusone by taking us to a musical journey through Italian Alps.
We would like to convey our sincere gratitude to Professor Remo Morzenti Pellegrini, Rector of University of Bergamo (UniBg) for initiation of idea to bring together two choirs in Riga, as well as to Mr. Aldo Valeo, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Italy in Latvia for attendance of the concert by showing Embassy’s interest and readiness to contribute in amplification of cooperation between RTU and Italy.
We would like to emphasize presence of UniBg students – Ivonne Verga, Roberto Barnaba un Sebastien Henri Gaspare Luchsinger – who are currently implementing Erasmus+ exchange at RTU. We strongly believe that students play a very significant role in constituting long-lasting relationship between higher education institutions.
The concert was planned and organised by Ms. Asja Visocka, Director of RTU Culture Center in cooperation with Ms. Simona Visinoni, President of Men’s Choir Idica, supported by Professor Igors Tipans, RTU Deputy Rector for International Academic Cooperation and Studies and co-presented by Ms. Lisa Carraro, Men’s Choir IDICA Presenter and Mr. Eriks Badamsins, responsible for RTU’s cooperation with Italy.
